Lindsay Bell
Head Coach, All levels |
Hi everyone my name is Lindsay Bell and I am the new head coach of Raft Mountain figure skating club. I am an ex-skater who was highly passionate and involved in the sport from the age of 6-18 at a provincial competitive level. My highest achievement was winning a gold medal at the 1993 BC Winter Games for my zone. I have spent the last 13 years involved in sport in many capacities as a parent, volunteer, board member and coach mentor at all levels in the world of artistic swimming, ringette, and horse jumping.
My personal coaching philosophy is “learning life long skills through sport using a positive growth mindset environment”. You will see this philosophy take shape in many ways. One of those ways is through volunteering with younger or less skilled skaters. Another area that is very important to me is our words used while training so that the “I can’t” becomes “I can’t yet”. This is my job … to help a skater figure out a path forward and as a coach find the ways that each skater learns best. I encourage every skater to bring kindness and a can do attitude, and through that develop a great sense of teamwork and accomplishment. I am excited to get to know all the skaters and those that love and support them over the next 23/24 season. |
