Additional Freeskate Ice:
Sr Star fees include all Freeskate times. Jr Star participation is limited to Monday and Wednesday, at the discretion of the Coaches. Freeskate time on Monday and Wednesday is available to Skate Canada members not enrolled in Sr Star, but who have tested to a minimum Star 1 level, at the rate of $12/hr.
Private Lessons:
Private lessons are required in order to build an individual skating program for competitions and recommended for building show programs.  They are available from our head coach during the Freeskate timeslots. These lessons are arranged directly with the coach. Other coaches may also offer private lessons, billed by the coach. Please contact the individual coach for pricing.
Payment Options:
All skaters must be paid in full 1 day prior to the start of classes - including Homeschool skaters.  Homeschool skaters will be reimbursed once the RMSC has received payment from the Homeschool.
  1. e-transfer (preferred as it decreases volunteer hours): raftmountainskating@gmail.com
  2. Cash or cheque to any RMSC Executive member
Financial Assistance:
KidsportBC provides funding to families whose children would otherwise be unable to participate in the sport. To find out more please see the Kidsport website.
Refunds:
  • In the case that RMSC must discontinue a program mid-session (for instance for public health reasons): prorated skating fees will be refunded for the cancelled portion of the session
  • In the case of moving to or from a different town: If arriving 3 or more weeks after the start of the session: fees are prorated to the number of weeks remaining in the session. If leaving 3 or more weeks before the end of the session: prorated fees are refunded
  • In the case of illness or injury: If the skater misses 3 or more continuous weeks based on doctors recommendation, prorated fees are refunded for the portion of skating missed.
  • Refunds or prorated fees will not be processed for skaters who change their mind mid-session or who wish to join mid-session, and skating will never be offered on a week by week basis.
Fundraising and Volunteering:
Many hands make the work lighter for each of us. We encourage you to consider how you can contribute and support this club for the benefit of all of our skaters.

Fundraising is essential to our club to SUBSIDIZE fees. Without fundraising we would have to charge more to cover the costs of our programs.  Our current fundraising activity is donation of bottles at the SuperSave depot - please encourage family, friends and business contacts to donate their bottles to our club when they return bottles!

We also rely on the Executive to manage the administration of the club in a  cost-effective manner.  2023 will mark 48 years that this club has been helping children learn fun and valuable skills! Please consider making this year the year to get involved - we appreciate all parent support in any way you are able to contribute.  Come out to a meeting or answer the call for volunteers for our skating shows - your support really makes a difference!
